Rita R. Baird, age 79, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Rita was a bartender beginning at the Ranch House in Bryan, for many years at the Glass Bar in Stryker and retired from the Bryan Eagles with over 20 years of service.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan where she was a very active member for many years including with the Bed Brigade. She was a life member of the Bryan Eagles and Moose.
Rita was an extraordinary organizer! She enjoyed gardening, was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and loved animals. But her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rita was born on May 2, 1945, in Paulding, Ohio, the daughter of Gerhart “Ben” H. and Audrey F. (Breininger) Rohrs. She graduated from Bryan High School. Rita married Thomas K. Baird on August 22, 1964, in Evansville, Indiana and he survives in Bryan.
Rita is also survived by her son, Ryan (Hope) Baird, of Bryan and daughter, Gina (Janelle Donato) Baird, both of Bryan; five grandchildren, Eric (Samantha) Donato, of Dayton, Daylan (Emily) Donato, of Archbold, Taylor (John) Fields, of Stryker, Tiffany (Brett) Driscoll and Megan Baird, both of Bryan and seven great grandchildren, Daxton, Vinny, Aiden, Hayden, Elaina, Jordan and Adelina. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 509 Center Street, Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Bryan.
