(Longtime Wauseon Resident)

Robert “Bob” Cecil Parsons Sr., age 77, a longtime resident of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, at his son’s home in Napoleon, where he had been residing the past year.

He was born February 2, 1949, in Martin, Kentucky, to the late Willie “Buck” Parsons and Nellie (Bailey) Parsons.

Bob was united in marriage to Dianne Elaine Ehrsam, who preceded him in death on May 5, 1993. Together they were blessed with three children, Jamie, Bobbie Jo and Robert.

Bob spent his life working as a mechanic, a trade he truly enjoyed. Over the years, he worked for LaPoint Auto Parts in Swanton and later for Parsons Auto in Holland.

In his free time, Bob enjoyed watching old westerns, especially “Gunsmoke” and classic John Wayne films. He was also a fan of professional wrestling and the television series “In the Heat of the Night.” Above all else, Bob cherished time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Jamie Skinner of Napoleon; son, Robert (Amy) Parsons of Napoleon; sisters, Betty Cundick, Pearl Finch, Arlene (Henry) Rios, and Kathy (Brian) Butler; grandchildren, Josh, Chris, Robert (Taylor), Brittany (Jim) Helms, Bret, Richie, and Danny Parsons; and great-grandchildren, Belle, James, Elayna, Jaxon, Bryce, Elliot, Griffin, Auggie, Bentley, and Tatum.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Bobbie Jo “Jojo” Smith, on July 30, 2013; brothers, Bill, Wendell and Alvin “Bull” Parsons.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Highway 109, Delta, Ohio. A funeral service celebrating Bob’s life will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Northeast-Eastern Great Lakes, P.O. Box 22470, New York, New York, 10087-2470 in his memory.

Messages of comfort and condolences may be shared with the family at the funeral home’s website www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
