Robert S. Clingaman, age 79, of Delta, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at the Fulton County Health Center in the early morning of November 11, 2024.
He was born May 20, 1945 to the late Laurel Clingaman and Blanche (Turney) Clingaman in Wauseon. On February 27, 1965 he would marry Nancy Gilders who survives and they would share 59 loving years together.
Before retiring, Bob served over 21 years as a foreman with G.B Manufacturing in Delta. Often in his spare time you could find him fishing, traveling or throwing horseshoes.
He and his wife loved to travel, often spending weeks in their favorite location Cancun, Mexico. Bob was a member of the Fulton County Horseshoe Pitchers, the Defiance Beagle Club and Delta Church of Christ.
Left to honor his memory is his wife, Nancy; son, Robert Jr (Melissa) of Lakeville, IN; son-in-law, Jon Strauss; grandchildren, Kallie, Mallorie, and Madison Strauss, Brittany (Kyle) Merkl, Robert (Elisibeth) Clingaman and Daniel Clingaman and great granddaughter, Ophelia Rosemarie Clingaman. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rebecca L. Strauss in 2018 and sister Carol Sue Burkholder.
Friends will be received from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Delta Church of Christ, 500 Providence St., Delta, Ohio 43515. A funeral service celebrating Bob’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 15, 2024 also at the church. Pastor David Underwood will be officiating. Private interment will be at Raker Cemetery in Delta at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the Delta Church of Christ in his memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta.
