Robert Howard (1930 – 2024)

(Joined Navy During Korean War)

Robert L. Howard, 94 years of age and resident of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, passed away on December 31, 2024.

Bob was born on September 3, 1930, to the late Arthur W. and Margaret (nee Rigby) Howard.

He married the late Marguerite (Peggy) (nee Churchill) on April 11, 1952. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2008.


Raised in Massachusetts, Bob joined the Navy during the Korean War. Upon coming home, he married his sweetheart, Peggy. Bob worked in the defense industry for a while before being called to become a minister.

He attended the 1st class of the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He pastored in California and several churches in Ohio. Bob also worked driving semis until his retirement, however he continued his calling until he was called home to heaven himself.

Survived by his children, Barbara (Duane) King, Robert W. (Kim) Howard, Clayton (Sheri) Howard, and Richard (Annie) Howard; grandchildren Darrell King, Christina Katz, Adam Howard, Bradley Howard, Robert W. Howard Jr., Caitlyn Shipley, Jennifer Piehl, Cynthia Gongaware, and Samantha Howard; great-grandchildren Ryan Katz, James Howard, Holly Piehl, Arin Piehl, Owen Howard, and Isabella Piehl; siblings Phyliss Ramsay, Donald Howard, and Betty Watkinson; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.


Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur W. and Margaret Howard; children Reginald Howard, Mary Howard, and Robert L. Howard Jr.; and his brother Richard Howard.

A visitation will occur on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Lifesource Church of the Nazarene (312 Townline Rd, Bryan, OH 43506) at 1 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m. Burial to take place at Williams Center Cemetery (1115 OH-576, Bryan, OH 43506).

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Church of the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (17001 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa KS 66220).
