Williams County now has a new person in charge of the Department of Aging, and Sarah Stubblefield shared she is “delighted to be working in the community” she lives in.

A Napoleon native, Sarah grew up watching her older siblings and parents model a strong work ethic, and saw how they “routinely shared their time and resources with others.”

In high school, Sarah wasn’t sure what the road looked like ahead. “I graduated high school and went to BGSU for teaching, but quickly switched majors. I eventually landed on organizational psychology and sociology.”

“For any undecided 2024 graduates out there, I would recommend trying classes on topics a little outside your comfort zone. A turning point for me was when I took a theater class, and realized I enjoyed the business side of entertainment.”

“Running the house, purchasing supplies, as well as organizing and leading different teams was exciting to me. This is when I first realized that I enjoyed project management.”

She would go on to earn a masters degree in management and leadership, as well as a project management certification.

This love found Sarah working a lot in the public sector, where she worked with Fulton County JFS and Northwest State Community College.

Her most recent endeavor found her in the private sector, which is why she is so excited for the opportunity to serve Williams County as the new Director of the Department of Aging.

“I currently live in Bryan with my family, so I am delighted to be working in the community where I live,” Sarah continued, “in the last few days, I have had a chance to meet quite a few of the older adults at the centers.”

“We have seven centers (Bryan, Montpelier, West Unity, Stryker, Edon, Edgerton, and Pioneer), and I sincerely wish to invite the community to come out and visit with myself and the others there. It has been a lot to learn, but I am enjoying every minute of it.”
