Tuesday, January 10 Scoring Summaries

GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Stryker 60, Edon 28

The Panthers stormed out to a 42-10 half time lead on way to their 11th win in 12 tries. Taylor Haines led Stryker hitting for 21 points while Hayley Doehrmann also contributed with a 16- point performance. The Bombers (1-11, 1-6) was led by Arianna Howard with six points.

Archbold 57, Holgate 25


After finishing the first quarter up 10-9, the 12-0 Bluestreaks finished the first half with a 28-16 advantage on way to the lopsided win. Kierstyn Repp nailed four three-points shots to lead Arcbhold with 14 points. Kamryn Hostetler also finished in double figures with 11 points.

Anthony Wayne 50, Delta 47

The Panthers (9-5, 0-1) lost a heartbreaker to the Generals in non-league play.  The game was evenly matched in every category except in second change points where Delta led 16-6. The Generals enjoyed a better shooting percentage from the floor with 46% from two-point range and 50% from beyond the arc. Maddie Mattimore led the Panthers with 21 points while Abby Freeman added 16 points.

Maumee Country Valley Day 37, Montpelier 20

The Locomotives (4-7, 2-4) struggled for just seven first half points, while committing a total of 35 turnovers. MCVD put the game away with a 14-0 run during fourth quarter action. Marley Eich led Montpelier with six points.


Pettisville 55, North Central 33

The Blackbirds, dominating right from the tip off, led 16-3 after the first quarter. After a 17-point advantage at the break, Pettisville coasted in the second half to notch their 10th in 12 tries. The Blackbirds were led by Alexa Leppelmeier’s 19 points while Morgan Leppelmeier added 14 points. The Eagles had two players in double figures as Alyssa Swank finished with 13 points and Makayla Hayes added 10 points.

Hilltop 50, Fayette 49

The Cadets (4-9, 4-3) were down 36-26 as the fourth quarter got underway. Hilltop erupted for 24 fourth quarter points to sneak past the Eagles (0-13, 0-7) in the BBC thriller. Felicity Jackson led the attack scoring seven of her 16 points during the fourth quarter run. Aubrey Wyse joined her team mate in double figures with 10 points. All four of Fayette’s scorers finished in double figures. Mataya Rufenacht led the Eagles with 15 points, Kaitlin Brubaker 12 points, and 11 points apiece from Jennaya Hibbard and Rhys Ruger.

GIRLS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL

Stryker 23, Edon Bombes 21

Montpelier 36, Maumee Country Valley Day 16

After an 8-0 run after one quarter, the Locomotives dominated the remainder of the game for the non-conference victory. Kimme Engels was the top point getter for Montpelier with 11 points.
