Scott Oppenheim (1961 – 2024)

Scott Smith Oppenheim, age 63, of Houston, Texas and formerly of West Unity, Ohio, died October 20, 2024 in Houston, Texas from complications of strokes.

Scott attended high school in West Unity, Ohio. In 1982 he moved to Houston, Texas.

He worked as a welder for Dresser Rand before working in Air Conditioning.


Scott is survived by his daughter, Julie Oppenheim of Houston, TX and four grandchildren, Jaiden Scott, LaRiah Richard, Logan Richard and Laiyah Richard. He is also survived by his mother, Deloris (Hill) Messner of Lake Havasu, AZ; sister, Teresa (Bernath) Emrich of Memphis, TN, and sister, Dena (Meessner) Ball of Palm Desert, CA.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Mike Oppenheim stepfather, James Messner, and grandson, Larry Richard.

Interment will be in the Shiffler Cemetery, near Bryan. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
