FAYETTE – The Fayette Lady Eagles parlayed a stifling defense and a hailstorm of threes from Kaela Seiler into a huge win over BBC rival Edon on December 7, 55-37.
Although the defense of Fayette was successful in holding Sydney Stoll of Edon to just a pair of field goals, it was the kick-start from Seiler that made the difference in the contest. Fayette jumped out to a 17-6 lead after one period and never looked back. Keying that run was a deuce and a trio of treys from Seiler, who canned five rainmakers on the night.
Seiler finished with a game-high 20, and support was given by Taylor Griffiths with 11 and Alexis Fruchey with 10. Ashtyn Baker finished with 6 points, Allison Cuff had 4, and Mikayla Smith and Jessie Wheeler each had 2 points.
Stoll put in 14 for the Lady Bombers, with Hannah Brehm-Gutting adding 7 points and Andrea Headley 6. Alex Kiess had 5 points, Kaitlin Chrisman 3 and Chelsea Handy 2.
