Sharon Kay Lantz, 85, went to her eternal home on April 6, 2026, at Fairlawn Retirement Community, Archbold, Ohio. She was surrounded by her family in her final days.
Sharon was born January 16, 1941, to Roy and Orpha (Fielitz) Klopfenstein. She graduated from Archbold High School.
Sharon and Marv fell in love at a young age, spending 70 years together and married 66 years. Immediately following their wedding, they entered two years of 1-W service in Evanston, Ill.
Sharon was committed to raising their family of four children before becoming dining room supervisor at Die Alt Scheier (The Barn Restaurant). Sharon and Marv worked side by side, owning and operating two locations of The Unique Little Gift Shop and The Candy Cane Christmas Shoppe.
When not working at the stores, Sharon was active in her church, leading, teaching and binding scores of quilts for donation to MCC.
Sharon is survived by her children, Wanda (Bret Stopher), Wendell (Dawn), Marsha (Duane Dowdy), Tammy (Al Riegsecker), 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Marv’s siblings, Velda (Lowell Becker), Charles (Sharon) and Marilyn (Wayne Short) and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by Marv, her husband, her parents, Roy and Orpha and her sister, Wynemia (and Leon) Waidelich.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 4 p.m. at Central Mennonite Church with Pastors Ron Kauffman and Wanda Stopher officiating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be at Central Mennonite from 2–4 p.m.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family suggests that memorials be given to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
