Sheila K. Jones (1960 – 2017)

Sheila K. Jones, 56 years, of Edon, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017 in her mother’s home in Bryan with her family at her side. Sheila was born October 4, 1960 in Bryan, the daughter of Ralph Russell and Carolyn Jean (Stark) Beerbower. She was a 1979 graduate of Bryan High School. Sheila married Ralph Allen Jones on March 28, 1981 in Bryan, and he survives.

She was a foreman at Dimension Veneer from 1987 until she retired in 2002. While in high school, Sheila participated in band and bowling, qualifying for the State Tournament her senior year. She enjoyed gardening, especially caring for her flowerbeds and landscape, working crossword puzzles and had a fascination about hummingbirds.

Preceded in death by her only daughter, Sheena Rae Jones in 1999, Sheila is survived by her husband, Ralph of Edon; mother, Carolyn Harrington of Bryan; father and stepmother, Ralph and Deanne Beerbower of Bryan; one sister, Kim (Robert) Smith of Edgerton; two brothers, Jeff (Cathy) Beerbower of Bryan and Chris (Tracy) Beerbower of Ocala, Florida; four step-siblings, Lilly (Steve) Brown of Montpelier, Rick Bany of Montpelier, Greg Bany of Edgerton and Vicky Ridenour of Montpelier; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (Burnell) Bauer of Bryan and Charlotte Jones-Tersigni of Toronto, Canada. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Sheila K. Jones will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Lynn Street Chapel, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Funeral services for Sheila will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 in the funeral home with Father Jim Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery.


Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial donations be given to Community Health Professionals Hospice, 127 Blakeslee Avenue, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
