The Stryker School Board of Education held its regular meeting on November 17, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the high school meeting room. President Brent Froelich called the session to order, followed by a roll call of members Emily Clemens, Sharon vonSeggern, Chase Stuckey, and Dan Hughes.

The board first approved the presented agenda and the previous meeting’s minutes with no discussion or additions.

The treasurer’s report for October 2025 was presented by Superintendent Nate Johnson. He outlined financial highlights, including an overall revenue and expenditures update for the month. Four donations were listed, including:

-Fulton County Fair – donation of $100 to the FFA

-Anonymous – donation of $3,555.50 for concessions of the last home football game

-Anonymous – donation of $75.00 for ice cream for students and staff

-Anonymous – donation of $1,327.58 to the FFA

The board also approved a “Then & Now” certificate to Huntington National Bank in the amount of $167,123 for the Courtyard Lease Purchase Principal and Interest.

“At this time, I’d like to welcome Nathan French, as it is his first day as the District’s CFO and Treasurer,” introduced Johnson. French will continue his role as Stryker’s Treasurer and provide financial updates in future meetings.

In the administration reports, Johnson continued with a summary of recent events and upcoming activities. He noted a full attendance of 365 for the recently held Family Fun Night.

A successful Veterans Day Program was held as well, with veterans visiting and eating lunch with students afterwards.

Parent and Teacher Conferences were scheduled for November 24, November 25, and November 26, 2025. November 26, 2025, through December 1, 2025, was reported to be the timeline for Fall Break.

The 2025 Stryker Christmas Program was scheduled for December 11, 2025. PK-K grades’ program will start at 6:00 p.m., while grades 1-3 will take place at 6:30 p.m.

Under personnel items, the board approved the employment of several classified, certified, custodial, food service, maintenance, and transportation substitutes and volunteers for the 2025-2026 school year. Also accepted was the 2025-2026 event workers list, which noted five workers.

Rex Blevins was approved as a full-time custodian, with a one-year classified contract, effective on December 2, 2025. A resolution to initiate procedures for the reemployment of a retired employee was added to the motion as well.

Johnson moved forward with his Superintendent’s Recommendations, including the approval of the overnight/extended trip for the high school band to travel to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. This trip will take place from March 12 to March 13, 2026.

A revision to the NEOLA policy was updated in order to comply with state guidelines.

Johnson gave a quick review of the ongoing progress of the Ag Tech Building and Courtyard Infill addition. “We are down to four punchline items,” explained Johnson. “With the courtyard infill, the second floor is completely painted, and the flooring is down. Electrical lights are being installed.

“The first floor has been painted, and they are also starting to lay the flooring. Currently, we are still waiting on the elevator; they are telling us mid-December for that. Hopefully, we can stay on target.”

The next scheduled meeting for the Stryker School Board is set for December 15, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
