(February 5th, 2015) – EDON: After building a sizable early advantage, the Lady Panthers had to withstand a late run by the Bombers in order to secure a victory.

Stryker took down the Bombers in the Hanger, 47-36.

The Panthers established a lead right away, winning the first quarter 17-9. While the second period was a much tighter affair, Styker was still able to add another 3 points onto their lead with an 8-5 effort. That gave the Lady Panthers a 25-14 advantage at the half.

Edon made a strong push in the second half, however. They opened up the half with a 14-7 run in the third quarter. Down just 4 points at 32-28, the Lady Bombers were poised to take control of the game.

Stryker would simply not allow it, however. Answering the Bomber run, the Panthers put up a 15-8 showing in the contest’s final period. This closed out the game for them with an 11 point victory.

Haley Doerhmann and Audra Rupp, a freshman and senior, respectively, each contributed 13 points to the Stryker victory effort. Senior Maddie Uribes added another 6 points as well.

The Lady Bombers were led by Kaitlin Sonneberger, who scored 17 points in the loss. Alex Kiess was close behind with 15 points. Sophomores Eliza Zulch and Hannah Kaylor each added 2 points to round out Edon’s scoring in the contest.
