The Stryker school board approved a new meeting time of 5:30 p.m. for its meetings, which will continue to be the second Monday of the month. The change from 6:30 p.m. was inspired partly from a desire to have Superintendent Nate Johnson and Principal Dave Clark avoid 10 or more hour days at the school on boards meeting dates.

The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 27, March 27, May 22, June 26, July 17, Aug. 21, Sept. 12, Oct. 16, Nov. 20 and 7 p.m. April 17.

The board approved Johnson’s recommendation to hire Lisa Dobbelaere as a Title I teacher for the remainder of the school year.

The board approved a proposal to place the renewal of the 5-year Emergency Levy on the May 2 ballot.

The board discussed an auction of the buildings at 110 and112 Curtis. The district wants to purchase the lots, but needs the buildings moved first. If the auction doesn’t work out, the buildings will be demolished. Johnson said the school stills need more information before it can proceed. At this time the sale is a possibility.
