Stryker – Programs and Services are in-line with Ohio’s focus on integration and community employment for individuals with disabilities. That was the feedback received by Quadco Rehabilitation Center during a recent Accreditation Review of the Williams County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Quadco Executive Director, Bruce Abell, told the Center’s Board Members that auditors from Ohio’s Department of Developmental Disabilities visited Quadco facilities recently, and the feedback was consistently positive. Abell told the Board that, “The members of the audit team that we spoke with were pleased with what they saw during their visit and feel that we are providing meaningful services with positive outcomes.”

Shannon Zellers, QRC Program Manager, shared with Board Members that QRC’s Community Clubs have been busy in the community visiting the Great American Cookies store in Fallen Timbers, Maumee, Ohio. Club Members were able see the process of preparing a variety of cookies and purchasing some to take with them. QRC’s Senior Activities Center hosted the monthly Four County Network Day at the Stryker Community Shelter House, which they decorated for Halloween. Those attending enjoyed lunch, games, and snacks. The Garden Club members have also been busy with indoor and outdoor fall decorations and planting a much needed shade tree.

Quadco’s Northwest Employment Services Manager, Rachel Lange, told the Board Members that the number of individuals receiving Job Placement Services through the center continues to grow. The department is serving 47 individuals in development, coaching, and follow-along services.

In other business, the QRC Board approved a change in Terms of Service for Board Members. Members will now be permitted to serve four 3 year terms. Previously, they were limited to three 3 year terms. The Board also approved the Policy for Board Self Review. A tool used annually to evaluate the organization’s performance.

The next regular meeting of the Non-Profit Board will be November 22 in the Stryker facility conference room.
