Thane Vignette Blk And whtThane Robert Wooley, 14 years old, was welcomed in Jesus’ open arms on March 29, 2016 in the Grand Rapids hospital after a courageous victory over a cancer battle that lasted ten years. He is the son of Brian and Rana Wooley and was born on October 5, 2001 in Wauseon.

Thane loved adventures most of all and utilized his travels for treatments to New York, Washington D.C., and Grand Rapids, Michigan for exploration and learning opportunities. Thane also enjoyed shooting hoops wherever he could, playing video games with his siblings, cousins and friends, and playing jokes on all his loved ones.

Thane was determined to keep his body healthy enough to be able to enjoy participating in all of these things and traveling to see as much of the world as he was able. He had such a joyful life and impacted thousands. His smile and signature giggle were so contagious that whoever came across him instantly felt the inspiration that radiated through him.

Thane is survived by his father Brian, mother Rana, brother Wade, and sisters Myriah and Emmalyn. Grandparents Myrna (Richard) Brown, Grandparents Charlene (Carl) Warner. He was loved by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and close friends. Thane is preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Doris Snow and Evelyn Goldfuss, Grandparents Thomas Wooley and Robert Cordy. Thane was a strong Warrior with bravery that conquered any obstacle that stood in his way of living a life of Christ.

Visitation for Thane will be held on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon. Visitation will resume on Sunday at the Wauseon High School starting at 1:00 P.M., where a Celebration of Thane’s Life will be held at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Matt Boyers and Pastor Tyler Quillet, officiating. Private interment services will be in the Wauseon Union Cemetery.


The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the charity of the family’s choice. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
