Thelma H. Young (1928 – 2017)

Thelma H. Young, age 88, died Tuesday evening in Fairlawn Haven Nursing Center, Archbold, Ohio. Thelma was born July 29, 1928 in Stryker, Ohio to the late Glen L. and Mary K. (Walt) Mock. She married Bard Young on November 03, 1956 and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2004.

Thelma was a graduate of Stryker High School. She was a former member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Stryker and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Archbold, Ohio. Thelma was active in many church functions including the Altar Society. She was a homemaker and was a babysitter for many years for numerous children in the Stryker area.

Survivors include, her three sons, Michael B. Young, Montpelier, Ohio, Mark W. Young, Stryker, Ohio, and Kenneth J. Young, Stryker, Ohio. One sister, Marie Geesey, Archbold, Ohio and one brother, David Mock, Montpelier, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Ann Young in 2013.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 in St. Peter Catholic Church, Archbold, Ohio. Rev. Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Stryker, Ohio. Friends may call for visitation with family, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday in the Grisier Funeral Home, 109 S. Defiance, Street, Stryker, Ohio 43557, where the rosary will be recited 6:15 p.m. Friday. Funeral luncheon will follow the interment services at St. Peter Catholic Church, Archbold, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church or the charity of donor’s preference. Online condolences at www.GrisierFH.com. Arrangements entrusted to Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker, Ohio.
