Thomas W. GalbraithThomas W. Galbraith, age 67, of Delta, lost his 11 year battle with cancer on Wednesday evening, July 27, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, where he received the best care and surrounded by his family and loved ones.  He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on July 23, 1949 to the late Morley Galbraith and Doris (Lewis) Galbraith.  Tom attended Delta Schools in the 1960’s.  On October 15, 1983 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Grime, who survives.

Tom loved working at Robinson Reality, Dick’s Sohio, his fencing construction business and spending time with his Delta Eagles’ friends.  He enjoyed antiquing with his wife and old John Wayne movies.  Tom wanted nothing more than making new friends.  He will be sadly missed by his children and wife.

Along with his wife of 32 years, Kathy Galbraith; son, Kody Galbraith of Delta; daughters, Jami (Steve) Meller of Fayette, Jennifer (Jason) Johnson of Liberty Center; brothers, Robert, (Dixie) of Lima, Richard (Patricia) of Palatka, FL, Charles of North Fargo, ND, Rodney (Patricia) of Montebello, CA, Morley “Skip” (Judy) of Delta, and Keith (Tonya) Galbraith of Delta; sisters, Judy (Tom) Whitten of Hazel Glen, AL, Beverly (Ralph) Learst of Dearborn, MI and Diane (Gary) Hoffman of Swanton; four grandchildren, one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his step-mother, Irene Galbraith; step-father, Henry Nardi and sister-in-law, Deb Galbraith.


Friends will be received from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta; with an Eagles service being conducted at 7:30 PM.  A memorial service honoring Tom’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday also at the funeral home.  Pastor Robert Galbraith will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family for assistance with Tom’s medical expenses; c/o Kathy Galbraith.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com
