Treva L. Elston (1944 – 2017)

Treva L. Elston, 73 years, of Sherwood, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the emergency room of Promedica Defiance Regional Hospital, Defiance.

Treva was born April 9, 1944 in Van Wert, Ohio, the daughter of the late Everett Dale and Ruby Marie (Foust) Elston. She had attended Grover Hill Schools, and was a 1962 graduate of Paulding High School. Treva was employed as an office assistant for a Credit Bureau and at Spangler Candy Company. She was a member of the Sherwood United Methodist Church. Treva enjoyed shopping, tending to her flowers, cooking and baking. She was extremely fond of family times, spending time with her siblings, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rheba Salyers, Treva is survived by four sisters, Rita (Dan) Canales of Defiance, Cheryl Srodes of Plain City, Ohio, Rosemary Yates of Bryan and Marilyn (Dale) Stoner of Stryker; three brothers, Glen (Mildred) Elston of Defiance, Lynn (Nancy) Elston of Camden, Michigan and Eugene (Barb) Elston of Ney as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Treva L. Elston will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery. Visitation for Treva will be held two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home until the time of services.


Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the Sherwood United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4582, Sherwood, Ohio 43556 or to Brookview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Patient Activity Fund, 214 Harding Street, Defiance, Ohio 43512.
