Unemployment numbers for the month of June were recently released by the Ohio State Department of Job and Family Services. These numbers show a continued increase for both our local area, and the state as a whole.
For June 2024, Fulton County ended at 5.0% with Williams County close behind at 4.9%. This follows an increase over the previous month, which also saw an increase.
For comparison, Fulton County sat at 4.6% in the month of May and 4.3% in the month of April. Williams County sat at 4.3% in the month of May and 3.8% in the month of April.
This equates to an increase in unemployment of 0.7% for Fulton County, and 1.1% for Williams County.
The State of Ohio and the United States have also seen a continued increase, with numbers for Ohio traveling from 4.2% in April to 4.6% in May and 5.1% in June. For the United States, numbers went from 3.5% in April to 3.7% in May and 4.3% in June.
