Vera A. Armstrong (1920 – 2017)

Vera A. Armstrong, age 96, of Wauseon, passed away Friday evening, March 17, 2017, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon.

Vera was born on March 24, 1920, the daughter of Albert and Allie Mae (Ferrenburg) Eby. On July 4, 1940 she married William Armstrong, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1993. She was a lifetime member of the West Fulton Dunkard Brethren Church. She enjoyed quilting with her friends and sisters and baked Angel Food Cakes for Das Essen Haus in Pettisville for many years. She also loved baking pies.

Surviving are children; Shirley (Don) Zimmerman of Wauseon, Dorothy (Carl) Lorenz of Greentown, IN, William (Sandra) Armstrong of Wauseon, Luella (Don) Hostetler of Arcanum, OH, Carol (David) Niese of Stryker and Clair (Dyann) Armstrong of Wauseon. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Albert Armstrong; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Brooklyn; sisters, Alberta Armstrong, Maude Butts, Verna Stoltz, Jeanette Poorman, Silvia Viers, and Paulette Johnson; and two brothers, Clay and Ted Eby.

Visitation for Vera Will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the West Fulton Dunkard Brethren Church. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, also at the church, with Brant Jamison and Lloyd Lorenz, officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the church. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
