W.H. “Sonny” Fowler (1940-2019)

W.H. “Sonny” Fowler, 78 years, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019, in his residence with his family at his side. Sonny was born November 16, 1940, in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late William E. and Minnie E. (Rose) Fowler. 

He married Barbara Thompson on December 8, 1962, and she survives. Sonny was a scrap cutter for Goebel Wrecking. He attended First Baptist Church, Bryan. Sonny enjoyed fishing, woodworking, teasing his family and friends. He treasured the time he could spend with his family and his cat, Silly Joe.

Surviving is his wife, Barbara of Bryan; five children, Randy Fowler of Bryan, Sherri (Kevin) Rice of Edon, Teresa (Steve) Depew of Defiance, Shelly Hanna of Montpelier and Dawn (Craig) Mosler of Edgerton; 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Infant Karen Fowler and William Edward Fowler; great-granddaughter, Analee Balogh; one brother, Frank Fowler and three sisters, Katherine Fowler, Sarah Blassingham and Willie Blalock; and his dog Susie.

Visitation for W. H. “Sonny” Fowler will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home – Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan. Funeral services for Sonny will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in the funeral home with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be sent to the family or the online guest book may be signed at www.oberlinturnbull.com
