The Wauseon School Board held its meeting on Monday, December 8. The meeting began at 5:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance, before moving to approve the previous meeting’s minutes.

The board then heard a presentation from Eric Sauber, operations supervisor, who provided an update related to district operations.

Following the presentation, board members approved Jeff Feasby to serve as the district’s representative to the Four County Career Center Board of Education. Approval was then given for the district’s bills and financial reports as presented.

Several donations were accepted next, many of which will benefit the Wauseon School Food Service and School Food Pantry.

Approved donations included $25 and $30 from anonymous donors to the school food service donation key, along with two bags of food and multiple pounds of hamburger donated anonymously to the school food pantry.

Additional donations included four $150 Chief gift cards from the Wauseon American Legion, 28 Thanksgiving meals from Maryann Reimund, $500 given in memory of 1963 Wauseon High School graduate Jim Mohr, and a donation valued at $1,037.81 from Rebecca Rupp, all supporting the school food pantry.

The board then approved a list of Then & Now certificates. Personnel items were then addressed, beginning with approval of a one-year certified contract for an intervention specialist at Wauseon High School, effective January 5, 2026.

The board also approved several classified contracts for transportation and support staff, along with an amendment to the superintendent’s secretary position effective January 1, 2026.

An outside supplemental contract was approved for an assistant softball coach for the 2025-2026 school year. The board also approved several non-contract workers, including student athletic workers and substitute transportation drivers. In addition, a volunteer assistant baseball coach was approved.

Classified transfers within the district were approved next, involving preschool bus aide positions and educational aide assignments.

The board then accepted several resignations, including teaching, coaching, and food service positions, with effective dates ranging from October 8, 2025, through August 1, 2026.

The board then approved the awarding of a Wauseon High School diploma to Robert Clark, who successfully completed all state and local requirements through the Ohio Department of Education 22+ Plus Adult High School Diploma Program.

Attention then turned to scheduling matters, with the board approving the 2026-2027 school calendar on second and final reading. Early completion was also approved for Emily Kendall for the 2025-2026 school year, with participation in the 2026 graduation ceremony.

Policy revisions were addressed next, as the board approved a series of NEOLA policy revisions, replacements, deletions, and new policies on second reading.

These updates covered a wide range of areas, including nondiscrimination, employment practices, attendance, transportation, information security, school safety, and district financial procedures.

Before adjourning, the board appointed Larry Zimmerman as president pro tempore, effective January 1, 2026. The meeting was then adjourned.
