The low net winning group from this year’s classic was the CDE group and the low gross winners were from the True Fast group.

The money raised at this year’s classic will be used to award next year’s scholarships. This year was the first year the Chamber was able to issue five 1,000 dollar scholarships. The executive director Neil Toeppe said Wauseon High school has a lot of excellent students which makes the process of choosing the winners difficult, the Chamber with this year’s scholarships figured in has now donated $55,000 to students from WHS.

The Chamber of Commerce is made up of ten local business and four people from these companies make up the board members that chose this year’s winners. The winners are chosen from a three tier criteria and these are Academic Excellence, Community Involvement, and the financial need that the student has for having the scholarship. Next year’s winners will be based off the amount of money raised from this year’s classic and they are hoping they can award five scholarships again next year.

This year’s winners were Sarah Mull, Derrick Kamp, Samantha Norman, Marin Schaffner, and Victoria Kreiner. Congratulations to this year’s winners and good luck furthering your education.
