Wauseon Indians Host Napoleon Wildcats; Come Out On Top 9-5 In Powerhouse Battle

WAUSEON: May 08– The Wauseon Indians, with an undefeated season in the NWOAL in hand, hosted the Napoleon Wildcats on May 8, taking down the visitors 9-5 to move to 18-5 on the year.

For the Indians on the rubber,  Nate Suntken gained the W, throwing 6 full innings, allowing 4 hits and 4 runs, none earned in the victory.  Suntken also sat down 4 Wildcat batters while allowing just 4 walks in the game.  Peyton Shadbolt closed out the win with an inning of work, giving up no hits, allowing 1 run off of 3 walks.

Offensively for Wauseon, Ty Suntken went 2 for 2 at the plate with 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.  Clay Tefft and JJ Kauffman went 2 for 4 on the day with each driving in an RBI; Brady Rupp and Axel Bueter along with Jacob Newlove also recorded hits in the Indians victory.
