The renovation project for the Wauseon Library cleared another hurdle when the Fulton County Commissioners signed off the work did not need to comply with federal laws.

The board signed off on the document which will free up $200,000 in CDBG funding for the effort.

The board formally approved rates for water service from Toledo for two lines.

The North Star Bluescope Steel will be $4.93 per 1,000 gallons for the first 74,800 gallons, $4.79 for the next 1.1 million gallons and $3.76 for more than 1 million gallons.

The Swancreek Water District, Northeast Water System and the village of Swanton’s per 1,000-gallon rate will be $3.79 plus a $0.37 surcharge from Lucas County and a $0.29 surcharge from Fulton County.

Rates represent a 13.2 percent increase for 2016. Rates will rise by 13.2 percent in 2017 and 4.5 percent in 2018.

The contract for water service is good for 20 years.
