The Village of West Unity is moving forward with plans for a new inclusive playground at Wabash Park. The project is being made possible by grant funding from two area foundations.

The Bryan Area Foundation recently awarded the village a $30,000 grant to assist with construction of the new playground. According to the foundation, the project will create a recreational area designed to serve children and families of all physical, mental, and social abilities.

Additional support for the project was provided by the Millcreek-West Unity Foundation, which awarded the village a $5,000 grant to help renovate the area.

The playground will be located at Wabash Park on the south side of the village. The park is directly next to the Wabash Cannonball Trail and will replace existing equipment.
