The West Unity Village Office meeting was held on April 10th and was called to order at 7:30pm. It was opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

The regular minutes of last month’s meeting, held on March 13th, were presented with no additional changes. This included the special minutes of April 2nd. There were no community visitors present at the meeting.

Ordinance 2025-1 was introduced to the council, having its third and final reading. The village has decided to amend tap-in fees and provide the necessary updates needed, including a meter pit. This will help follow the requirements of the Ohio law, as well as stay consistent with the village’s current code.

Ordinance 2025-2 also passed, amending the indigent burial fees and requirements for services.

The police report and clerk’s report offered no additional information and presented as all business as usual.

Chief of Police, JR Jones, mentioned that there was a small delay in receiving the new police car unit, but expects for all issues to be resolved by June of this year.

The administrator report, given by the Village Administrator Joshua Fritsch, mentions the flow meter that registers the water intake leaving the water treatment plant was not working correctly.

With the meter being several generations behind the current advancements, it was recommended that the village replaces it entirely.

Fritsch also reported that the Williams County Commissioners will be visiting to look into the South Liberty Sewer Pump Station, as they are visiting all sites that applied for the CDBG grant.

With no further comments from the council members or staff present, the April 10th meeting was adjourned at 7:44pm.
