(Member Of Holy Trinity Catholic Church)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Raczko, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, and friend. Bill departed this world on April 1, 2026, at the age of 76, after a courageous battle following a stroke that he suffered in February.

Born on Jan. 25, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, Bill was the beloved son of the late Edward and Helen Raczko. Bill’s life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and resilience.

On Aug. 28, 1970, he married the love of his life, Rose, with whom he shared 55 beautiful years, building a life of happiness and raising two wonderful children, Scott and Jenny. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, warmth, and countless cherished memories.

A graduate of Whitmer High School’s class of 1968, Bill went on to dedicate over 43 years of diligent service in management at Kmart. Bill’s devotion extended beyond his professional life, as he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and served on the Spencer Township Zoning Board.

His work ethic and commitment were admired by colleagues and friends alike, and his gentle smile and peaceful nature made him well-liked by all who had the privilege to know him.

Family was the cornerstone of Bill’s life. He was a loving and devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren, who adored their grandpa and admired his gentle wisdom and kindness. Bill took immense joy in family vacations and day trips with Rose, treasuring every moment spent together.

Bill found peace in tending his yard and taking on various projects around the house. His passion for Detroit Tigers baseball was well-known, and he relished every game, whether at the stadium or from the comfort of his living room.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen, his parents-in-law Gilbert and Mildred Lumbrezer, his brothers, Terry and Mike, and sister-in-law Becky Lumbrezer.

Bill’s legacy of love and kindness lives on through his surviving family: his devoted wife, Rose; his children, Scott and Jenny; his grandchildren Gavin, Sierra Rose, and Hannah; his brothers-in-law, Bob (Sharon) Lumbrezer, Gil (Karen) Lumbrezer, and Jim (Kelly) Lumbrezer; sister-in-law Karen Raczko, and nieces and nephews. His family invites all those whose lives he touched to join in celebrating his life and honoring his memory.

A visitation will be held at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton on Tuesday, April 7, from 5-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2649 US-20, Swanton, OH, preceded by a short visitation at the church from 10-11 a.m., with interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery and lunch to follow.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Lakes of Sylvania for their compassionate care during Bill’s final weeks. Your kindness brought comfort to Bill and his family during a challenging time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bill’s favorite charity, Food for the Poor.
