William Heldberg (1936 – 2017)

William E. Heldberg, age 80, of Bryan and formerly of Stryker passed away late Thursday May 17, 2017 at the Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Care Center.

Prior to his retirement he had worked as a Sales Manager for Isaac Tire in Bryan for 40 years. He had also been a life long are farmer, having farmed from the age of 10.

Mr. Heldberg was born on July 15, 1936 the son of the late Carl H. and the late Beatrice G. (Rettig) Heldberg. On May 11, 1957 he married the former Charlotte Myles and she survives. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Stryker. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Surviving besides his wife, Charlotte are daughter, Jan Bottorff of Garner, NC, son, John (Audrey A.) Heldberg of Stryker, grandson David Lee and great-grandchildren, Johnathon Ray and Donavon Michael and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents were sisters; Lois (Carl) Dietrich and Mary (Henry) Rosebrock.
