William L. Manley, age 86, of Wauseon, Ohio died early Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017 in Fulton Manor, Wauseon.

He was born April 25, 1931 in Wauseon to the late Claude H. Manley and Pearl A. (Sams) Griffin. He married Florence Manley on May 13, 1988 and she precedes him in death. He was a 1949 graduate of Wauseon High School. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of the Wauseon American Legion Post. William had also lived in Mt. Clemens, Michigan for over 50 years.

Survivors include, Sister, Doris Gray, Las Vegas, Nevada. Nieces and nephews, Linda A. Drennan, Maineville, Ohio, Thelma Bowers, Lecanto, Florida, Roger Fickle, Wauseon, David Fickle, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dick Fickle, Wauseon, Ohio, Patty Greene, Tampa, Florida, Ruby Dille, Tampa, Florida. Also surviving, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Alberta Taylor, half-sister, Wilma Manley, half-brothers, Richard Manley and Arthur Ray Fickle, nephews, Gary Bowers, Michael Bowers, Bobby Fickle, and Jonathan Braden.


Memorial service and Celebration of William’s life, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 02, 2017, in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, Ohio. Rev. J.T. Bean, Senior Pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church, Swanton, Ohio officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Fulton County Honor Guard. Family and friends may call for a time of visitation 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home prior to the memorial services. Immediately following the services Sunday, the family invites those in attendance to enjoy refreshments at Tiny’s Dairy Barn, Shoop Avenue, Wauseon, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fulton Manor, Wauseon, Ohio.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, Ohio.
