The Williams County Commissioners held their regular meeting on July 8, 2025, at the Compass Cafe & Store at Lake Seneca.
The meeting was a part of their annual tradition of “Coffee with Commissioners,” to help better connect with locals of the county.
The meeting began at 9:00 a.m. with a call to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a roll call attendance. Commissioners approved the minutes from the July 1, 2025 meeting and approved the agenda with no changes or corrections.
After the routine payment of bills, several departmental appropriations were accepted.
In new business, the Board authorized entering into an agreement between the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Williams County Commissioners on behalf of the Williams County EMA. This management service will be at a cost not to exceed $14,000, with a term limit of June 18, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
A reappointment of members was also issued for the Williams Metropolitan Housing Authority. Patti Rockey, County Auditor, was reappointed to her position, with a term limit of five years.
Additional items presented included the Dog Warden Weekly Report for the week of June 23 – 29, 2025. The Williams County Treasury Management report by fund for the previous month was approved with no corrections.
MVPO, Maumee Valley Planning Organization, provided an update on the Brownfield and Demolition Program, which is currently set to be renewed. A Victim’s Assistance Pre-Award was noted, requiring a signature from President Terry Rummel, as he is the form’s designated signatory.
A permit was approved for the use of county property by the American Red Cross for a bloodmobile in the East Annex parking lot on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Commissioners continued to discuss working with the County/Township Road Right of Way to cite a utility outlet on behalf of Hotham LTD, ES Farms, and Matt Slabaugh Farms.
The Department of Public Safety sent a formal acknowledgment letter regarding the recently approved vehicle license plate tax.
An amended official certificate was made regarding the statutory requirement to amend the Estimated Resources document per Ohio Revised Code 5705.36. To finish up the meeting, the Auditor’s Office Financial Report was submitted for the month of June.
Upcoming events include a discussion of the Land Bank at the East Conference Room on July 10, 2025, a Department of Aging Advisory Meeting on July 15, 2025, and several routine team meetings to follow.
