Gene Woodring has given an update on the current happenings of the Courthouse renovation, sharing that a plumbing issue has been discovered in the crawl space in the northeast corner that services four restrooms.
Most of the crawlspace is accessible for repair, with the exception of one segment. About 12 feet of pipe will need to be entirely replaced, and some damages will need to be repaired.
The leak is seemingly a drip, but it is guessed that it has been dripping for a long time, so the water to the restrooms has not been turned off yet.
Woodring assured the commissioners that he would block the restrooms off before the leak would be serviced.
The commissioners gave Woodring permission to move forward with the repairs, as the problem won’t get any better.
A humidity problem, discovered on the first floor after the windows were sealed, led to the finding of this leak while the crew was searching for the source of the excess humidity.
Blinds for the new windows were approved for purchase, with a sample installation approved as well. The windows set to be filmed are going to be filmed before their installation, with the commissioners thanking Gene Woodring for his efforts and Woodring thanking the commissioners for doing “something really good for this courthouse,” stating that they “should be proud of this one” before they went into recess.
