The Williams County Fair Board met for its regular meeting on November 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Thaman Building.
Seven Directors and two Auxiliary Directors were present, along with President Pam Goll, Vice President Tom Fry, and Secretary Scott Carroll.
The October 2025 meeting minutes and October 2025 Treasurer’s Report were approved with no discussion. Pam Goll gave a committee report that noted the livestock checks were available for pickup on Friday, November 21, 2025, and Monday, November 24, 2025.
If not received, they will be mailed to the participant. The total amount reported was $368,000, which was much higher than in previous years.
Goll additionally received bids for floor repairs in the Gillette Building. She stated that the insurance was only going to pay to return the floors to their previous condition.
At the Pork Producer’s Banquet, the committee pledged a total of $5,000 to help fund the purchase of new hog gates. The total cost amounted to $5,306. With supplemental funds from recent sales, the Board looks forward to ordering the new pens.
Under new business, the board moved through a series of annual approvals. Signers were authorized for the organization’s checking account under the Executive Committee, as well as for the Livestock Account.
Additional approvals were granted for signers on the savings and merchant accounts at F&M and State Bank.
The board also approved a list of financial institutions for continued use, noted in discussion as WesBanco, State Bank, and F&M. Standing policies were reviewed and formally passed for the new year. A $1,500 sponsorship donation was noted by the board for the 2026 Fair concert.
The board proceeded with voting on Auxiliary applications, which included three renewal requests from Austin Huffman, Chad Carrol, and Heather Mercer. Two first-time applications were presented by Gary Tamol and Michael Morris. All five were approved to join the Auxiliary.
Due to a scheduling conflict with the annual convention, a vote was needed and held to change the date of the January 2026 meeting. The date was officially changed from January 15, 2026, to January 22, 2026.
The meeting adjourned at 7:39 p.m.
