You are invited to the Williams Soil and Water Conservation District’s (SWCD) annual Open House and Board of Supervisors Election.

The Open House and Williams SWCD Board of Supervisors Election will be held on Monday, November 9, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Williams Soil & Water Conservation District office in the Agriculture Services Meeting Room in Bryan. Voting and registration will take place during that time. You can also vote by absentee ballot now until November 9. Call the office for information on casting an absentee ballot.

The Open House will feature the election of one Williams SWCD Supervisor. Candidates in this year’s special election are Jim Coleman and Kevin Miller.

During the Open House, the recipient of the Outstanding Cooperator Award will be announced. Chili, creamy chicken sandwiches and refreshments will also be served.

Educational soil activities will be available for all ages. Learn which nutrients plants need to grow by making an ‘NPK’ bracelet. Children can learn about soil by playing a soil matching game. Are you a ‘Soil Health Scholar?’ Find out with this quiz!

Come and learn about soil horizons and soil texture. A short program on soil horizons will be given at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. and a program on soil texture will be given at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.

The Williams SWCD Board and Staff invite you to come together to cast your vote with people who have the mutual interest of conserving our land and water for those who live beyond us! We hope to see you at this year’s Williams SWCD Open House as we commemorate 68 years of conservation.

For more information contact the Williams SWCD office at 419-636-9395 Ext 3.
