Version 2Willis H. Chappuis, 78 years old of Bryan, passed away March 22, 2016 at Bryan Community Hospital. Willis was born on June 16, 1937 in Defiance, Ohio. He was the son of the late Harold and Lola (Gurwell) Chappuis. He was a graduate of Stryker High School in 1955. He married June (Robbins) on December 25, 1955 at the United Brethren Church in Stryker.

Willis worked at the Williams County Highway Department for many years. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Bryan. He was also a long-time farmer and he loved to eat out.

Surviving are his wife, June, of 60 years; sons, Michael (Robin) Chappuis, Ronald (Kelly) Chappuis, Darrell Chappuis and friend Sheila Miller, and Randal (Vicki) Chappuis, all of Stryker. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, Tiffany (Andy) Wheeler, Jared (Hannah) Chappuis, Kirsten (Seth) Miller, Evan Chappuis, Kara Chappuis and fiance Aaron Ayers, Kendra Chappuis, Krystal Chappuis, Brier Chappuis, Amy Chappuis, Levi Chappuis, Alex Miller and Devon Weirauch; one great-grandchild, Eleanor Chappuis and one great-grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Wayne, and sister, Thelma.

Visitation for Willis will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Bryan, with Pastors Gary Keisling, Jon Chase and Nick Woodalll, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Stryker. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Christian Missionary Alliance Church or the American Heart Association.
