Nancy “Nan” G. Byers, 91, of Montpelier passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. She was born on April 30, 1927 in Montpelier to Pierre B. and Mary B. (Stevens) Rothenburger. Nancy graduated from Montpelier High School in 1945. She married Richard W. Byers and he preceded her in death in May 2000.
Nancy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Montpelier. She worked as a catalog sales clerk at the former Montgomery Ward in Montpelier for 10 years and was a member of the Woman of the Moose in Montpelier.
She is survived by two sons Richard “Ric” (Cindi) Byers and Randy (Chris) Byers all of Montpelier; four grandchildren, April (Jeff) Limburg, Dick Byers, Keaton Byers and Chandler Byers; two great grandchildren, Owen and Wyatt Limburg. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, infant siblings Jane and Pierre Jr., and sister Martha DuBois.
Visitation for Nancy will be on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 4-8 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Reverend David Tilly to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.
