Delta Man Injured In Thanksgiving Weekend Crash

The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a five vehicle injury crash on Holland Sylvania Road near Angola Road, Springfield Township, Lucas County which occurred on November 24, 2018 at approximately 5:35 p.m. A 2002 Toyota Rav4 driven by Leanard Saxton, age 19 of Toledo, Ohio was southbound on Holland Sylvania Road. The vehicle struck three vehicles stopped at the intersection, debris struck a fourth vehicle, and Mr. Saxton’s vehicle overturned striking a utility pole.

Mr. Saxton struck a 2017 Jeep Renegade driven by Kayla Harris, age 29 of Toledo, Ohio, a 2007 Mazda CX-9 driven by Gregory Fry, age 60 of Delta, Ohio, and a 2013 Chevrolet Captiva driven by Damien Dotson, age 28 of Toledo, Ohio.  All were stopped southbound on Holland Sylvania Road. Debris struck a 2017 GMC Acadia driven by Hector Marquez Falomir, age 50 of Holland, Ohio who was stopped northbound on Holland Sylvania Road.

Mr. Saxton was transported by ground ambulance to the University of Toledo Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Mrs. Harris was taken by ground ambulance to St Lukes Hospital for non- life threatening injuries. Mr. Dotson was taken by ground ambulance to the University of Toledo Medical Center for non- life threatening injuries.

Assisting the State Patrol on scene was Toledo Fire Rescue Department, Springfield Township Fire Department, Toledo Police, Holland Police, and the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office. Impairment is a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
