Defiance Police Respond To Shooting At Quality Inn Hotel

On September 10th, 2019 at approximately 1910 hours officers from the Defiance Police Department responded to the Quality Inn 1068 Hotel Drive in the city of Defiance for a report of a shooting.

It was reported that a male had been injured in the shooting. On arrival officers took Rebecca M. Reed, age: 47, of 97 North Maple Street New London, Ohio, into custody.

Upon investigation one male sustained a gunshot wound to his foot and was transported to the Defiance Regional Medical Center by Defiance Fire and EMS. The male victim was in stable condition. The shooting took place during a disturbance in the Quality Inn parking lot.

Rebecca M. Reed was charged with Felonious Assault and transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. Assisting the Defiance Police Department were the Defiance Fire Department and the Defiance County Prosecutors Office. Further charges are pending a Defiance County Grand Jury.
