Lady Locomotives Hit The Road For Double Header; Blast Ottawa Hills In 2 Games

OTTAWA HILLS: April 26, 2014– The Montpelier Lady Locomotives put together two explosive offensive performances on April 26 at Ottawa Hills, overwhelming the hosts 13-3 in game one and shutting the game down in the 5th inning in game two 16-2 to pull even at 6-6 on the season.

Game #1

Breanna Stein recorded the win in game one, going the distance for 7 innings, allowing just hits and 3 runs. Stein also sat down 13 batters in the game.

In game one offensively for the Lady Locos, Leslie Clark, Taylor Wells and Marinna Mercer each hit for a double and single in the game, while Regan Steffes, Christy Duchene, Sidney Houk, Mikayla Schilt and Stein each recorded base hits in the Montpelier victory.

Game #2

The Lady Locomotives overpowered Ottawa Hills in game two, running away with a 16-2, 5th inning win to close out the two game series.

Jessy Duchene put together a complete game, going 5 innings allowing 2 runs off of 5 hits while setting down 6 batters in the victory. Duchene also allowed only 2 walks in the game for Montpelier.

Duchene and Breanna Stein each hit home runs in the game while Marinna Mercer recorded a triple, double and a single. Sydney Houk connected for a double and single; Regan Steffes Mikayla Schilt, Leslie Clark and Christy Duchene each powered out hits in the win.
