FAYETTE: April 28– The Hilltop Cadets, behind a nice effort on the mound by Senior Miklo Abner, took down the Fayette Eagles on April 28 to move to 3-3 in BBC play and 4-9 on the year overall.
Abner went the distance on the mound allowing just allowing just 2 runs and striking out 6 Eagles on the afternoon. Abner also allowed 5 walks.
Offensively for the Cadets, Nic Schieber had a blast over the fence, connecting for a solo shot while teammate Jessie Westfall went 1 for 2 at the plate, connecting for a double. Justin Grapengeter and Zach Rohrs each had an RBI in the Hilltop victory.
For the Eagles, Koby Biddix took the loss, allowing only 3 earned runs and fanning 11 Hilltop batters. Biddix also gave up 3 walks in the setback for the Eagles.
At the plate for Fayette, Biddix, Jerad Seiler and Jared Wagner had the only hits in the game in the Eagles loss.
The loss drops Fayette to 0-7 in the BBC and 0-9 overall on the year.
