STRYKER: April 28– The Edon Bombers took to the road on April 28 to take on the Stryker Lady Panthers in BBC action, walking away with a 13-8 victory to move to 4-3 in conference play and 6-5 on the season.
Kaitlin Chrisman got credit for the victory, throwing 7 innings, allowing 7 earned runs off of 11 hits. Chrisman also sat down 4 Panthers, while giving up only 1 walk on the afternoon.
Offensively for Edon on the game, Chrisman pounded out a double and 2 singles in the win to help her cause on the mound, while Alex Kiess also had a hot bat, popping out a triple and 2 singles. Nicole Newell connected for a double and a single and teammate Shaylee Manahan was a force with 3 singles in the Bomber win. Kaitlyn Manahan and Haley Jacoby also contributed 2 singles and Samantha Wiedmer rounded out the production at the plate with a hit.
For the Panthers, Conner Varner was tagged with the loss, allowing 16 hits and 10 earned runs in the game. Varner logged 6 strikeouts in the loss while walking just 1 batter.
Miranda Pegorch had a good day offensively, connecting for 2 doubles and a single; Conner Sullivan had a double and 2 singles and Varner chipped in 2 singles in the loss. Tasha Pegorch had a double while Emma Shindledecker and Megan Neville rounded out the Panther hitting in the game with singles each.
The loss drops Stryker to 3-4 in the BBC and 5-8 overall on the year.
