MONTPELIER: April 29-the Montpelier Locomotives played host to the BBC’s Fayette Eagles on April 29, coming out on top 11-4 to move to 3-10 on the year while remaining at 1-4 in the NWOAL.
Andrew Luke earned the victory on the mound for Montpelier, throwing 4 innings and allowing just 2 runs off of 6 hits. Also throwing for the Locos, Josh Lewellen saw 2 innings of work, allowing 2 runs off of 2 hits.
At the plate for the Locomotives in the victory, Cody Caudill had a huge output from the batters box, driving in 4 RBI’s in the victory. Luke, Jared Shoup, Dalton Surbey and Bryce Cooley also connected at the plate for the Locos, with Cooley recording a triple.
For the Eagles in the loss, Ben Grieser took the setback, throwing for 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs and 3 hits. Offensively for the Eagles, Grieser connected for 2 hits including a double in the loss, while Tharyn Colegrove went 2 for 2 with 2 singles. Jerad Seiler also went 2 for 4 with 2 singles while Travis McClain and Drake Bowditch each also hit in the loss.
