The Montpelier Board of Education met on April 13th in regular session. Council member Terry Buntain was absent from the meeting.
It was reported during the meeting that 14 new members were recently inducted into the National Honor Society, bringing Montpelier’s total NHS students to 30.
The Board approved a donation from Owen’s Electric for $149.00 for in kind work. The Board also approved a then and now purchase order in the amount of $10,344.91 to Interstate Truck and Trailer for bus repairs.
Also, the Board approved to establish a new fund and cost center for the ESSER II Grant Funds as well as an amended certificate to the newly established fund for $642,689.44.
The Board approved the employment of Bryan Hopper as 5-6 Grade Intervention Specialist for 2021-2022, David Bauer and Lester Orndorff as Summer Technology Assistants, Susan Cliffton and Kara Custar as summer custodians for the 2021-2022 school year.
Also approved was a supplemental contract for Tammie Mercer Chmielewski for Right to Read Week, a movement of TaSondra Harrington to a 3 hour per day Bus Driver, adding Laura Hutchinson to the substitute aide list for the 2020-2021 school year, and approved Zachary Mason as a volunteer track coach for the 2020-2021 school year.
The Board also approved the resignation of Pam Schroeder, Life Skills Teacher, effective at the end of the school year.
Also approved during the meeting was the approval of the Medical School Program Service Agreement with Healthcare Process Consulting, Inc. This helps to provide the District with managing the District’s Ohio Medicaid School Program.
The agreement is from July 1, 2021 until June 30, 2024 at a cost of $6,500 per year. The Board approved the Compilation Proposal from Julan and Grube for preparation of cash basis financial statements for fiscal year 2021-2023 at a cost of $2,200 per year.
Finally, the Board approved a lease agreement with Current Office for the replacement of existing copy machines with new equipment and provided maintenance for five years beginning July 1, 2021. Cost of the lease will be $58,952.
The next meeting of the Montpelier Board of Education will be May 11th.
