ATTENTIVE COMMISSIONERS … Even though the August 16, 2021, Monday morning meeting was short and to the point, Commissioners Lew Hilkert, Terry Rummel and Brian Davis were alert as Clerk Anne Retcher shared about her desire to switch online records to a verbal recording rather than a written transcript. Beginning in January of 2022, the Williams County Commissioners meetings will no longer be put online in Transcript format.

Per a request from Commissioners’ Clerk Anne Retcher at the August 16, 2021 morning session, the commissioners approved a switch over to having their meetings online in recorded format.

Retcher said that putting the meeting recordings on the website and no longer transcribing the minutes word for word will save close to eight hours a week for the office staff.

When asked if they could put both the transcription and the recording, Retcher said that it would only be the recordings from then on.

Commissioner Lew Hilkert said that he thinks they should review it after six months to “see how it is going.” Retcher said she liked that idea. There will also be a summary of the minutes page on the website, as well as the recording.

In other business, the commissioners voted to approve the Minutes for previous meeting and payment of bills as submitted by the auditor and Resolution 288 Supplemental Appropriations on behalf of Williams County Hillside Country Living; Department of Job and Family Services; Juvenile Court; Probate Court; and Sheriff’s office.

They also signed Special Hauling permit #21-012 for B J Brown Farms, Inc.; Monthly Expenditures for credit cards for Prosecutor’s Office for month of August 2021; Approval for Todd Roth to submit and sign applications to participate in the Ohio Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program established by HB 168.

With no further business the session adjourned.
