Lynne Ford, who was a well known voice on WBCL out of Ft. Wayne for thirty three years, was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the 2020 Bryan Area Christian Prayer Breakfast in Bryan, Ohio.

Most events were canceled last year due to COVID and the Bryan Prayer Breakfast was no exception. The Planning Committee is thrilled that she is coming to speak at the Breakfast this year, which is scheduled for October 26, 2021.

The morning will begin with a light breakfast prepared by Susie’s Lunch and Mobile Catering, from 8:30 to 9:30, in the Fellowship Hall at Wesley United Methodist Church.

The church is located at 903 Center Street in Bryan with a parking lot to the south, behind the church. Guests may enter at the west end into the Fellowship Hall or go directly into the sanctuary entrance at the east end.

Women and men are all invited to attend, with the tickets available for $7 at the door. They can be purchased ahead of time at the Bryan Chamber of Commerce office or by calling 419-636-4473.

Tickets are required whether attending the breakfast portion or not. The net proceeds for the program will be given to Compassion Medical Clinic of Williams County.

The music before and after the program will be provided by Joanne Allison and Special Music this year will be performed by Lynne Ford. The gathering will also participate with the singing of some patriotic hymns.

Hopefully, there is no reason to shut it down this year, but if there are any changes they will be announced to the public as soon as they are determined.

Speaker, Lynne Ford, shared in her promo information, that her “first radio job was as a receptionist/secretary for an AM station—where she was promptly fired after just one week.

The station’s owners, missing the fun quotient she brought to the office, quickly rehired her, taught her the basics of on-air work, and made her the station’s manager.

Four years later, Lynne was hired by the WBCL Radio Network to produce its popular Mid-Morning program and act as one of its hosts. In June of 2011, Lynne became the sole host of Mid-Morning, continuing the tradition of producing and hosting shows that connect the dots between faith and following Jesus in day-to-day life.

After nearly 33 years at WBCL, Lynne retired in the fall of 2017. This latest chapter of life is packed with leisure time spent with her family and friends, devouring the books on her “Retirement Reading List,” making the Ford home a haven, intercessory prayer, and attentively listening to God, as He reveals the good works He has planned for her in this new season.”

Her talk for this year’s Prayer Breakfast is entitled Prayer: A Path to Knowing God Better. She gave the committee a short summary of it, saying, “As followers of Jesus, we are commanded to be “pray-ers.”

And while God mysteriously and miraculously uses our prayers to bring about His will, and to deliver the resources of heaven into the circumstances of earth, prayer also accomplishes another vital purpose: drawing us into a deeper knowing of God.”
