BOYS BASKETBALL

Swanton 52 Maumee 45

SWANTON – The Bulldogs improved to 7-1 after a 52-45 win over Maumee in the opening round of the Bob Fisher Holiday Classic. No stats were reported.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Maumee, 46-41

Evergreen 76 Northwood 36

METAMORA – Evergreen (3-4) raced to a 46-23 lead at halftime and rolled past Northwood in the semifinals of the 2021 Northwest Ohio Holiday Classic. No stats were reported.


JUNIOR VARSITY: Evergreen, 49-22

Wauseon 60 Paulding 40

PAULDING – Wauseon was 24/44 (54%) from the floor including 6/10 from three-point range in a 60-40 win over Paulding (1-8) in the State Bank Holiday Classic. Jonas Tester fronted three Indians (6-3) in double figures with 15, Krue Powers had 11, and Matt Shaw added 10.

Antwerp 74 Edgerton 29

EDON – Antwerp (8-0) drained 12 3’s led by five from Landon Brewer as he finished with 18 to pace Antwerp to a Route 49 Classic semifinal win over Edgerton. Jagger Landers added 16 for the Archers including a bucket in the third quarter that put him over 1,000 points in his career. Corey Everetts was the lone Bulldog (1-6) in double digits with 10.

Edon 40 Hicksville 38


EDON – Edon (4-2) held off a late surge by the Aces who hit four triples in the fourth quarter before falling to the Bombers 40-38 in the opening round of the Route 49 Classic. Drew Gallehue topped Edon with five field goals and a free throw for 11 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Hilltop 61 Emmanuel Christian 20

SYLVANIA –Libbie Baker poured in 20 points to lead Hilltop (6-5) past Emmanuel Christian 61-20 in the semifinals of the Warriors Classic at Lourdes University. Baker was joined in double figures by Jayma Bailey with 15 and Leanna Baker had 12.

Swanton 42 Fayette 16

SWANTON – The Bulldogs dominated defensively by shutting out Fayette in the first quarter on their way to a 42-16 win to open the Bob Fisher Holiday Classic. Frankie Nelson had five field goals and was 4/4 at the free throw line to total 15 points for Swanton (7-3). Emma Leininger led the scoring for Fayette (0-8) with seven and Nevaeh Powers added six.

Bryan 52 Montpelier 31

BRYAN – The Lady Bears led 15-4 after one quarter en route to a 52-31 win in the semifinals of the Image Pro Holiday Classic. Addie Arnold paced nine different players in the scoring column for Bryan (9-1) with 12 and Montpelier’s (8-2) Ariel Page tallied a game-high 15.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Bryan, 46-8

Fairview 62 Stryker 38


BRYAN – Fairview (7-4) grabbed a 23-12 lead at halftime and closed out the game with a 19-10 fourth quarter to knock off Stryker (5-4) in the Image Pro Holiday Classic. No stats were reported.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Fairview, 57-20
