The Fayette Village Council held their meeting on Wednesday, May 11th at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council first moved to approve the agenda as amended. The minutes for the previous meeting that took place on April 27th were then approved as well as the Governmental Affairs Committee meeting minutes from May 4th and Safety Committee meeting minutes from May 4th.

Council then voted to appoint Chris Meeker to the Cemetery Board of Trustees to serve another term. A discussion took place regarding a permit request to hold a car show in Fayette.

Concerns were voiced regarding the shutting down of the street. Ideas were given for alternative places in the village that the show could be held. Following discussions, it was moved by council to table to request until the next meeting.

Hearing of the public took place next with representatives from the Community Development Corporation. The representatives spoke regarding an individual that is planning on putting a Subway in Fayette.

The building currently being looked at houses the food pantry. Council was asked if they might know of a place that the food pantry could move to if needed.

The mayor’s report was then given followed by the VFO’s report. The report was approved by council before then moving to approve the list of bills as presented. Council then moved to approve the following agenda items.

The First Reading for Ordinance 2022-03 for supplemental appropriations. Approval to transfer $8,650 from the General Fund to the COPPS Grant Fund.

Approval to transfer $20,000 from the Water Fund to the Water Enhancement Fund.

With no further business to attend to, the meeting was adjourned for the evening.
