The month of October is a busy time for The Square in downtown Bryan with events happening about each week that are loads of fun.

Saturday, October 1, was the perfect day for Oktoberfest with low seventy-degree weather and sunshine galore.

Gates opened at 2:00 p.m. on the west end of the square between West Butler Street and West High Street.

Entry was free, with five-dollar wrist bands for those who wanted duly beverages and one dollar beer tickets. Beverages ranged from 2-6 tickets each.

For parents looking to get away without the little ones for a few hours, were welcomed to bring them over to Williams County YMCA for their own German themed activities. ]

The price was twenty dollars per child and required registration as there were limited spots and only for those ages five through twelve.

As you entered the fest you were able to have an immediate taste of an authentic German Festival.

Many were dressed up in their best dirndl and lederhosen giving a traditional Oktoberfest experience.

Those of age were allowed to choose from quality craft beer options including Two Bandits, Drop Tine, and Father Johns. Domestic options available were Busch Light, Michelob Ultra and Hard Seltzer’s.

A huge Oktoberfest favorite was the huge soft pretzels, and luckily two food vendors were offering them.

Rolling Fire Pizza, Wicked Wiches, & BBQ, and Partners In Crime were open and selling yummy food until 9:30 p.m.

The German Dance Group and Toledo Holzhacker Baum made an appearance for a traditional dance to Volksmusic.

TOSS … A few rounds of show stopping game called the Brat Toss were a crowd favorite at the 2022 Bryan October fest. Contestants were to throw the brat across and into their partner’s bucket.

A popular game that stopped many to both play watch was the Brat Toss.

Partners would throw the brat across into the others bucket, of course, the other had to move around and catch it. Also enjoyed was the Masskrugstemmen Contest and Hammerschlagen.

Following the Brat Toss, the Eric Neubauer Ensemble took the stage with not only traditional polka music but known hits like ‘Take Me Home Country Road’.

A little something for everyone was at Bryan’s 2022 Oktoberfest including a tent with a large tv playing the Ohio State football game with stool tables to stand at.

Black and White Cab Company was offering free rides until 10:30 p.m. with gates closing at 10:00 p.m.
