The Delta Village Council gave final approval to the town’s 2024 budget after very limited discussions during a six-minute meeting last week.

The $7.6 million budget includes no major changes from the prior year according to Finance Director Stephanie Mossing.

Village Administrator Andy Glenn reported FirstEnergy still has plans to route transmission lines through both the reservoir property and the street department property, but that no one had been in touch with him yet.

Police Chief Robert Austin reported one of his full-time officers had resigned from that position, choosing to become part-time effective mid-December, and that he would start the hiring process for a new full-time officer in a week or so.

The council also approved its regular slate of invoices. The public portion of the meeting ended with the council going into executive session “To consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion or compensation of a public employee or official, or the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, licensee, or regulated individual.”

No action was anticipated as a result of the executive session. The next council meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on December 18.
