The Williams County Commissioners met regularly last week on Tuesday and Thursday, with Tuesday’s general session beginning at 9 a.m.

Two resolutions were then passed, and the Commissioners approved the Recorder’s Office credit card appropriations for April, the same for the treasurer’s office for May, travel requests, the March financial report, a quote for electrical work on the courthouse, the minutes of their March 28, 2024 meeting, and the bills as presented.

They met again a little before 9:30 a.m. to discuss the sanitary sewer system for Hillside with County Engineer Todd Roth and Darrell Moore.

It was shared that a recent evaluation of costs has shown that a deficit is being run on the sewer system associated with Hillside Country Living.

It was decided that the true costs associated with maintaining the sewer system for Hillside will be monitored, with costs surpassing their $1,000 monthly fee being charged to them to keep it equal for all taxpayers.

An MOU (memorandum of understanding) was agreed to be drafted to outline the details pertaining to the arrangement.

At 10 a.m., they reconvened to open the bids for the mill and fill project on County Road 12-C and D, or Project 3-2024. The bid, set at $1,612,809.30, was sent on to ODOT to ensure everything is in order.

Thursday’s general session began at 9 a.m. with the approval of four resolutions, travel requests, April credit card appropriations for the EMA office, an invoice from Gorman Miller, a quote for the fourth floor of the courthouse, the purchase of a new trailer, the minutes from their April 2nd meeting, and the bills as presented by the auditor.

At 10 a.m., the bid was opened for the asphalt paving project, or Project 4-2024, for $52,2401. Russ Davies then came in around 10:30 a.m., sharing the most recent options for the county’s CORSA liability insurance renewal. They will have until April 19, 2024, to make their final decision.
